Graduated MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 1994. Qualified Emergency Medicine trainee program (Master of Medicine) from the Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2002. Underwent further training as Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary Scotland and Hyperbaric & Diving Medicine in Key Largo Florida USA. Obtained PhD in the field of Bio Informatics & GIS in Health specifically for road traffic injuries in 2016. He has developed the new layout of Department of Emergency Medicine Hospital USM that incorporated the first Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) in Malaysia. Currently he is the Head Unit of Hyperbaric Medicine Hospital USM and the Professor in Emergency Medicine, School of Medical Sciences, USM. Committee member of Malaysia National Specialist Registry (Emergency Medicine; 2009 till present) and Committee member of Specialty Conjoint Committee in MMed Emergency Medicine (2005 till 2017). In 2023 he was appointed as a Fellow of Royal College of Physician Glasgow (FRCP Glasg.). Main interest of research and clinical work on Trauma & Injury prevention, life support education in community, hyperbaric medicine, and acute pain management. Has published approximately 80 journal articles in peer review journals. Hobbies include travelling & golfing
